There has been a Church in Helmsley on the site of the Church of All Saints since before the Norman conquest and is recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086. The opening service at All Saints Church was on 27 January, 1853. Lots of rebuilding took place in the 19th century.
There is also a Castle in Helmsley but it was closed for the winter season.
