Actually Bayou gave the only credible inference in this Thread so far...
Albeit his wisdom is meet with disdain...

"Do you have the infrastructure of a small business already in place? It's illegal, and practically impossible to get away with, working "under the table" any more. Government at all levels will come after you for taxes, reporting, licensing, etc. Your personal bank will not cash or deposit checks that appear to be anything other than personal. You want the liability protection of an LLC? That's another can of worms and administrative costs and headaches.

Thank you so much Bayou for the reality check...
Yes I've been there, LLC etc... as a successful Bridal Makeup Artist...

However at the end of the day I've finally realized that living at (just below) the poverty level has intrinsic benefits which far exceed my initial expectations.

I did notice the outrage on UHH when PayPal changed their policy and now provides each of it's member's sales data to the IRS... Please Wake Up folks:

Will I get a 1099 from PayPal?
Ok, Understanding PayPal 1099-K: New Reporting Rules
You will receive a 1099-K from PayPal for the 2022 tax year if you received over $20,000 in total payments for goods and services and had 200 or more transactions on the platform.

However Beginning with the 2023 tax season, you will receive a 1099-K from PayPal for over $600 in payments for goods and services on the platform. As of Apr 1, 2024

I worked for Deloitte, Touche & Tohmatsu LLC in Washington DC as an IT specialist...
Interestingly their DC Office was right across the Street from the IRS... Many of their accountants shared with me that there was an revolving door between the IRS and Deloitte, Touche & Tohmatsu LLC

Wishing all here much Joy and Success on your "Career Journey"

There is a marked and critical difference between a Tool and a Toy...
Namely one is used primarily to generate a revenue stream the other?

Worked briefly with another photographer in my market as a Makeup Artist on his assignments.
He had been shooting weddings for an agency that had recently dropped him.
Why? Because he was using a Nikon D700...

Some guys just can't get their head around the brutal fact that a Wedding Event is likely this most important day in a women's life... So sad but I've seen this again and again... And it's the primary reason I would typically mention to all my bridal makeup clients during their Trial Makeup session... "You would be wise to book with a female photographer if at all possible, in as they fully realize the worth/value of that very "Special Day".

Single Card Slots are great for those who enjoy "playing" with their "Toys"
Commercial Event Photographers are fully cognizant of the potential of a "career ending" disaster....

But hey, this is UHH which is virtually devoid of Wedding Photographers now.
I recently listed one of the very best Nikon options for Wedding Events (a Pro Nikkor 70-200mm) on UHH's Buy/Sell forum, zero responses even though my price point was considerable below KEH, B&H and mpb. UHH members simply aren't much into commercial photography, oh well.

And yes I have a D700 which I use for "Product" photography where those images can easily be recreated.
In fact for "Product" work, I typically have well over a dozen different illumination scenarios before I call in a wrap.

If by chance you are interested in Commercial Photography, more specifically Wedding Photography I recommend investing time on flickr... There you will find a multitude of Commercial Photographers active in the aforementioned. https://www.flickr.com/search/?text=Wedding+Photographers

Cheers, and btw, I consider Dual Chard Slots mandatory if you are a Commercial Shooter booked for a Wedding Event (paid work).

Upgrade? An Aging Children Obsession to have the latest and "greatest" amongst peers as though it would increase their "Persona" in their "Tribe"...

Too funny how my clients never ask me what camera I use... let alone what model...
They only ask: "How soon can I have my Deliverables... "

Maybe be more worried more about if your CCW carry will "print" beneath a thin t-shirt on a hot summer's day.

Or exactly how small the Therapeutic Index is of a drug your cardiologist wants to prescribe even though you're not symptomatic...

Could these be more Real-Time issues folks?
Maybe get over a perceived "Tribe Persona Thing" and focus on more pressing issues?

Just a thought...
But hey it's Monday, so wishing all much joy and happiness in this exciting week ahead...
Cheers! A very happy Nikon shooter

"I don't think its too high for what you are getting." I concur completely with your inference William.
An amazingly popular Full Frame DSLR that has remained at the top of flickr's Camera List for quite a few years now. Currently in a virtual tie with the Nikon D850 (see below).

Nikon fully realized it's popularity and has accordingly provided several Firmware Updates to address anomalies that have been encountered. I believe the D750 is currently at “C” firmware to version 1.15.
Several of my colleagues have been using this platform for their commercial assignments and absolutely love it.

It's Serial Number: 3004035 is a US variant (3003566 - 3224290 > USA)
And it's Shutter Life is designed to 150K clicks (same as my D700 and D300s)
You're only at 1.2% it's designed life (not even broken in yet).

If I didn't already have my epic D3x I would have taken a serious look at your D750.
Hope this helps William, all the best on your photographic journey.
And thank you for your military service for our Country, it is truly appreciated.

Is this a G****r issue FrumCA or a Political issue?
To frame the ability to effectively deploy a pistol as G****r Issue could be a subject of rigorous academic debate and/or analysis, especially since it was broached by a women. However to couch it as a political issue may sadly bring forth a fountainhead of uncorroborated ignorance and personal prejudice... I'm with UHH Admin here in not allowing political subjects on UHH however the Attic being the only exception.

To this end I will ask you point blank FrumCA... Why were all RN members of the US armed forces forbidden to carry weapons? Was this a G****r Issue? They were in fact females, and all were Commissioned Officers (All had college degrees). You will find eight of their names on the Vietnam Wall in Washington DC. Additionally there were approximately 10,000 to 11,000 women RN's who served in harms way with a typical tour of duty of one year albeit many served multiple tours of duty.

Keep in mind they worked 12 hour shifts, seven days a week (minimum) and were absolutely forbidden to be aboard military evacuation helicopters even though these helicopters had red cross insignia on them (that was entirely the role of Medical Corpsman).

There was only a single exception to the aforementioned policy, RN were allowed to use firearms ONLY to protect the wounded under their charge (but not to protect themselves which is forbidden under the Geneva Conventions) Vietnam nurses were emphatically not allowed to carry weapons, and required to display a red cross insignia on their person (uniform) or helmet to show they were a noncombatant.

"Save a life you are a Hero!" Save hundreds of lives you are a RN...

I would suggest all here on UHH visit the Vietnam's Women's Memorial in Washington, DC.

bbrown5154 I'm a commercial photographer who occasionally sells to other UHH members (those who actually post their photographic images on UHH, not those who's only mission purpose is to "Flip-Kit" in this Buy/Sell Forum)

Since I personally know many UHH members from my decade on UHH. My policy is simple, I do not sell kit that is not something I consider less than KEH EX+ grade (I seek to maintain credibility on this site).

For items that are marginal (kit purchased that didn't work as advertised) I simple send them to Roberts, mpb or KEH (who I consider the "Gold Standard" for "Integrity" in our marketplace) and will except the best offer from the aforementioned (or simply give the item away). Again I cherish my perceived worth as a seller of previously owned kit here on UHH. You might consider that route bbrown5154...

OK, To others viewing this thread, a word of advice that I've come by through assisting many of the top commercial shooters in my market (I've been an ASMP Associate for well over a decade and offer my services on the ASMP Web Portal). If you have to SHOOT IN THE RAIN, and you're a Nikon shooter then only use Nikon Kit listed in their Professional Flagship Line. This has worked extremely well for me.

See Below: Probably the most miserable day I've ever had on a commercial assignment. Even though I had rain gear on I was pretty much soaked and fighting off hypothermia by the end of this soccer match. The Nikon D3 and Pro Glass was absolutely fine and stayed attached together in it's Nikon professional carrying case until I got back to my studio.

Hope this helps others here on UHH, wishing you all much joy and success on your photographic journey.

Thank you for your sage advice imagemeister...
It is a breath of fresh air amongst the thoughtless regurgitation of other "Tribe" members that dominate UHH.

To the OP: In my experience if a lens was actually designed for film cameras and you are deploying it on a DSLR you would be wise to test it with the camera lock down on a tripod in "LiveView" with a timed release.
In essence LiveView Tripod Mode (Nikon) is actually no different than shooting with a mirrorless camera, if your results in LiveView match your normal focus paradigm (I'm assuming C (Continuous Focus)) then you're likely good (but a mirror box on a DSLR can be off (it happens) thus sometimes one edge is slightly more in focus.
However since the lens in question is a wide angle it is unlikely that you could detect any variations of focus

Please enjoy you journey to the Swiss country... I believe it is still a conflict free zone.

Rjv58 A Nikon Z7 II (Oct 2020) with Serial Number 7202329 is associated with the Singapore Market
Albeit please do not take my word for this (I'm not an agent of Nikon) nor am I a Nikon Ambassador.
However here is highly trusted source: http://www.photosynthesis.co.nz/nikon/camera.html
btw: Roland's Guide was Last update 3 May 2024
I have personally verified it to be correct on each and every Nikon Body I've owned.

Of merit, mpb lists the serial numbers on all the Nikon bodies it sells...
Also I've purchased a previously owned high end Nikkor Lens which had a US serial number which Nikon USA NY serviced for me and it has preformed flawlessly for over 9 years. (I highly recommend Nikon USA Service in NY)
Hope this helps or is at least food for thought.
All the best on your journey Rjv58

"On this date on history..."

DennyT To this day remember the absolute horror of the cold blooded murder of 4 unarmed Kent State students and the wounding of nine others... I had just been teargassed while attempting to attend my final Organic Chemistry class located close to the Southern Gate into the University of Maryland... There was massive panic on campus, r**t police everywhere... The Maryland National Guard had been called in.

This event totally ended my plans to attend U of MD graduate school for which I had received an offer of full tuition. I did not even attend my graduation ceremony several weeks later, if fact I only returned to the campus briefly to submit my required research papers in Micro Biology and Organic Chemistry.... I have never ever returned to the University of Maryland, College Park campus since.

https://today.umd.edu/a-defining-moment

I wish you well DennyT and hope your are able to find final closure on the Kent State May 4 Massacre

"Anyone else?" See below...

First Two Images:
Camera: Nikon D3
Lens: AF 200mm Micro Nikkor f/4D IF-ED

Last Image:
Camera: Nikon D3x
Lens: AF 300mm f/2.8 Tokina Prime

I actually prefer the gentle tactile feel of my Kolinsky Sable Makeup Brushes on my agency model's silky soft skin and their flawless complexion. And so do my agency models

btw: The intricate work and dexterity required to assemble a Kolinsky Sable Makeup Brush means that these brushes are almost exclusively made by women. It typically takes over three years to train the artisans, and there are only nine brush makers in the world that can produce these top-of-the-line makeup tools.

My all time fav? Kolinsky Sable Eyeshadow Brushes. Why? The skin of the eyelid is the most delicate of the entire human body. The clients who sits in my makeup chair truly recognizes and appreciates the superb worth/value of the perceptible gentle touch that Kolinsky Sable brings to the mix.

Hope this helps folks understand the complexities of working in the Beauty Genre.
