We've been using Lithium batteries in our mobile home and now the caravan for years.
But if you are going lithium I would suggest only getting LifePO4 type.
Haven't heard of any catching fire.
'Robust cell design: LiFePO4 cells have a robust design that makes them more resistant to physical damage, such as impact or puncture. The cells are enclosed in a hard metal casing that protects them from external forces and prevents them from leaking or catching fire.'

They are much lighter than other batteries and are usable down to almost empty.
No good for small appliances of course as they are too big, due to having a BMS on board I think.

There are different kinds of hard drives. More modern machines with 2 drives tend to have a somewhat smaller solid state drive (SSD) plus a traditional spinning platter drive. The usual suggested plan is to leave the smaller drive, which is much faster, for program storage and to put images on the larger but slower drive. Then you use a separate external drive as your first backup.

Exactly right. Well exactly the way I set up my laptop. Programs on the faster SSD.
Any 'data' you have previously saved in the drive with all your programmes should be moved to the other drive. (Any data you move may not be found by the Program associated with the data now, however you know where it is, so just amend that when you open the Program (app).

Could be a stunner, but for me, my eye goes straight to the crooked horizon. Easily fixed with a bit a of a crop.

Can't comment about the Northern Lights Steve but if they are similar to our Southern Aurora, the lights win hands down. Sort of, to me, if you've seen one Eclipse, you've seen them all. The Southern Lights are different every time you see them, stunning display of greens and reds and with the solar storm currently adding to the phenomenon here, it's been night after night of an amazing light show.
Regrettably, I'm only going by the photos in our news media and my daughters pics she sends. We cant see them from here.

We do this every day as we keep our butter in the fridge.
About a half inch slice off a lb of butter takes 7 seconds at full power.
Leave for at least a minute after taking it out as its still 'cooking' inside.
We have a 1000W microwave.
But all of these little ovens seem different so experiment. Our daughter has the same oven and she has to go to 9 secs to get the same result. Weird aye.

The last update from MS 10 messed my computer up and my Paintshop Pro disappeared and passwords to several things were non-functioning.... then blue screen ...

Photoshop Elements is no longer on my program list. MS Word, is gone, demanding I update to the latest. Wow, thank you MS.

Just went into C drive program file... tried to open older PSE and message said must sign in and I am not recognized

I have to wonder about the overall health of your computer. Millions of downloads of Windows updates (100's of millions?) and proportionally, very few have a problem it seems.
My wife and I with two aging laptops just set updates to arrive and forget while the computers are asleep and while we have been using computers since the days of DOS, rarely if ever have a problem.
Certainly never a Blue Screen of Death and Programs (Apps) have never 'disappeared'.
I have 3 older versions of Elements on my computer, never use them of course, but I just tried Elements 2021 and it works fine. (I use 2023 currently).
When you say 'sign in' I guess you mean sign in to Adobe. I occasionally get the same request, just sign in with the email and password you used when you set up the account to buy the Adobe product.
We still use Microsoft Office 2007 (Word and Excel anyway) from the days of when we had a business. Also Adobe Pagemaker still works and that goes waaay back. Its not on this laptop tho, on an old one running Windows 7

I would suggest you perhaps run a malware programme or similar and do a bit of a tidy up. Or get some expert advice. I can only suggest what seems to work for us.

That's always been my setting on the D750. Nothing new or revolutionary about it, is there?

Close all programmes and go to Power and Restart.
Go to Disk Cleanup in Settings and Clean System Files. Make sure ALL boxes are selected. Click Clean.
Now open Elements Organiser. Try opening the Editor from the little box at the bottom of the screen.
Hopefully this will work for you.
If it doesn't you maybe have lost the Editor programme somehow or it has got corrupted.
There are options to get it working either by repair or a new download if the above doesn't work.
Good luck.

If you refer to someone as a hipster, you mean that they are very fashionable, often in a way that you think is rather silly. [humorous].

I'd go along with that definition, the silly part anyway. I would say childish perhaps.

Funny. I thought it was just a common, (well here anyway) mistake and the writer couldn't spell properly.

Edit: actually, I still think that. The only reference Dr Google can find to that 'word' is here on UHH. So seems to me its just sloppy spelling

I agree with him, simply because like everything else one needs to keep abreast of novelties and adapt. (I do not when it comes to car... I WANT MANUAL GEARS!!! - There is screamed it!)

Many folks are upset with AI for some reason. To me, AI is just advanced programming, used with post-processing it works wonders.

AI is stupid - For any use. Alarming so, considering how some folks use it with no supervision or control - Does is make people dumber then? If AI is used properly, it can be a wonderful tool in many domains.

Have to admit I do admire Steve's proficiency, both with the technology and his artistic ability, but at the end of the day he's running a business and yes, videos like this are really just part of the marketing strategy. 'ASB' - attention seeking behaviour.

As to the changes in photographic capture and the assistance of technology to increase the keeper rate? It is what it is. The world is what it is and changing every day.
We just have to adapt or follow the path of the dinosaurs.
The next generation won't even think about what 'our' early days were about. They will have their own version where 2024 technology will be just the way it used to be done.

Thanks Tony!

Swallows are ridiculously fast flyers, and quite small birds. It flew into the frame as I was pressing the shutter button - strictly an accidental capture After that, though, the one that sat on the wire stayed that way for about four shots.

Sorry about the edit, couldn’t resist. I was only kidding. We have them here around and Ive never even tried to get a pic in flight.

Thank you so much for your time and extensive comments, Tony!

I did several crops and pp looks with #1. Ultimately, for the texture theme I decided on the one posted to make the sure the shape of the container is clear. A closer crop just didn't look right. However, I'm attaching a totally different pov as another of my loves: graphical, harsh b&w.

I'll also show you what the stacks look like after they've been shrink-wrapped - complete with a swallow photo bomb

I get your reaction to #4. Even though I loved the dress, I couldn't get a decent angle (the headless mannequin didn't help), so this view is slightly awkward.

Again, many thanks!

Amazing the difference emphasizing the contrast (and the crop maybe ). Okay, so you've spoiled your theme of textures, but as a pic I reckon that's a winner. Love it.

And the shrink wrapped stacks. You not only have an astute photographers eye, your timing with the bird was perfect. Another from me
Edit: Just had another look at 'The Pallets'. I would have waited about a 1/30th sec before shooting, just to get the swallow centred. But guess thats being a bit picky
