Like I said, check to see if there is an expiration on the detectors.
Our old detectors used 9V batteries, which I replaced once a year, but the detectors themselves still expired.

The 10 year batteries in our new units are not replaceable,
plus, the units expire in 10 years.....

I wish they'd put 10 year batteries in, but the builder used the cheapest batteries they could find. We've only been in the house 2 1/2 years. We had one go off within the first year and have several go off since.

Aside from the fact that most detectors have an expiration date.
My old ones expired.
Maybe just ionization detectors expire, "smoke" detectors may not.

Well, our builder put the cheapest batteries possible in ours, NOT the 10 year batteries, SO, every once in awhile we have one start to chirp. It's the ones on the 12' foot ceilings we can't get to. Any suggestions on replacement batteries? I have found out that the fire department will come by and replace them.

I was just going to ask why, as a kid. I would see tennis shoes hanging on an electric wire. What does that signify other than a kid headed for trouble?

It divides the lines for gangs and drug dealers.

We do know the history of Democrats stealing e******ns. LBJ stole his first senatorial e******n. JFK's old man used Daley to to steal Chicago and Illinois. Nixon should have been President in '60. So, it's not like the Dems don't have shady history.

I got some great news related to being over 65 and being retire when I called my appraisal district about appealing this year's appraisal. I found out that no matter what the appraisal is, now or in the future, our taxes will be frozen at last year's ammount. Last year, fortunately, was the year that Texas increased the homestead exemption from 65K to 100k which lowered our takes by 3K!! Forever.

I think there's a movie about this very topic which can provide several suggestions. Be careful, though, not to place the dynamite too near your house!!

Is it all lithium batteries or the re-chargeable ones? I have to replace all of our fire alarm batteries and am considering lithium batteries.

Both are amazing. I was on Cadillac Mt in Maine for one in the 60's. The clouds rolled in so that only the top of the mountain was clear and watched it go to totality. It was really special. When I was in Alaska in the 70's there was a display of the northern lights that had everybody stopping by the road and standing in the -40 weather to watch. It covered the entire sky and was nothing but rippling colors. You could hear it as well.
Can't pick one over the other, both were special.

Great description!!

I am on Eastern Shore of Lake Ontario, southern Jefferson County. We had big party the filter I bought for my 600 mm was too dark to see the eclipse. Several of my friends were able to get good photos with just a Mylar filter on their iPhone

Did you get any photos of the storm on the sun causing the tremendous northern lights? The same filter will allow you to do that.

I reiterate: So, which do you like more?
I missed your answer somewhere.

I posed my question to those who had seen both firsthand. Never having seen the Northern Lights, I can only speculate. I will say one thing. They are two entirely different phenomena, each to be appreciated for what it is. I think I would have to say, just guessing, that each would rate "really cool" in my estimation. The only rating above that is "totally rad-awesome," which, as I said before I reserve for the experiences of my kids being born. It happens ALL the time. Nothing greater than that.

Ordered to put a fence around his boat, he did just that. What he did next is hilarious and a great way to get back a bureaucracy.
