Could be some truth in this.
At least this one spoke passable English!
I saw this one in my newspaper but we don't get the strip about the ballpark figure.
But since you brought it up I have wondered for a long time, since Dagwood Bumstead eats like a pig and thinks about food constantly how come he isn't super fat. Tapeworm maybe?

He's very stressed. He's afraid he'll be caught sleeping at work, and he still can't understand why his beautiful wife has stayed with him all these years. Besides, he doesn't seem to eat very often.

I called Epson Tech Support on Friday regarding an issue with my Stylus Pro 4800 printer. I couldn't understand one damned word the [female] tech was saying. When I asked for her name and where she was located, she replied, "Nicole, Philippines." Yeah, right ... Nicole. Sure. I hung up! Called a tech support number for another product question last week and "Michael" from Bangladesh answered.
I have a rule: Whenever I call a tech support number - or any company for that matter - for any reason and I get a Third-World sounding voice on the other end, I immediately hang up. I also do not speak nor understand Ebonics and that's also an immediate disconnect on my end.
I'm disgusted with some name-brand companies that we have trusted for years to provide quality assistance with their products, and now we are forced to deal with a tech reps with Mud-level IQ's that can't even speak intelligent English.
Jerry, I enjoyed your Dagwood post and had to laugh. Sad, but true. I wonder what Mud-World country that kid was from that Dagwood was speaking to?
It may be funny but it's not a joke!!! My son was a computer whiz by the time he was a senior in h.s. He started a two year Cisco course at his hight school but dropped it because they weren't serious enough.
