I am not really into baby pix but I was talked into it.
Yep. Erv and a few others wanted to see some recent photos of my grandson, Phillip after seeing me post one of him on one of Erv's threads.
Before I go any further, many old hats out here say that good equipment does not make for a good photographer. I am living proof that this is not necessarily so. I have great equipment and I am very much an amateur, and these photos are not half bad. So there!
I took these on Sunday. Phillip turned 9 months on the 14th of this month. The problem I have taking photos of this kid is that he is always smiling. Doesn't he know that this is an election year? Not only is he smiling, he is cutting in his upper teeth. I get a boil and I am miserable.
So, for those of you who like baby pictures, enjoy!
Happy go lucky.
Always smiling
Finally, not smiling. This is because he was working something out and we all can guess what that was!
Proud Mommy and son.
My duaghter and baby Phillip back in February.

Nice Tom. He is a happy little guy! Only thing I see wrong is the flash is giving you a dark shadow. Are you bouncing it off the ceiling or wall. It looks like you are straight on with it. But even so the skin tones are pretty darn good with a flash. Most folks will wash out the skin and it will be extra white looking. If you had just two lights and played with them you would have awesome pictures. But these are very well done.
You can go to Home Depot and get clip lights and do some great things if you pick the right bulbs. And they don't cost a lot.:)

Tom any lighting on that face is sure to be outdone by the power of his smile. Great photos

I was pissed! Right before we left to go see the kids, I had a pair of batteries all charged up in the charger. I put them in my bounce flash not thinking anything. When it was photo time, no flash. The batteries never charged. Oh, well. I had to use the onboard flash. Yuck. Almost the whole family showed up and that living room was about as big as a master bath. There was no way that I could have set up any sort of lighting. It would have been great for a bounce flash because the ceiling was so low and white. I could have made an impromptu reflector I suppose, but there was so much commotion going on. Plus, my daughter just informed me that her Blazer was overheating big time. So I spent most of that afternoon repairing that problem. I was bumming. I had a bunch of clamp on reflectors but My wife's kids needed them more for their pot plants than I did. So, I guess it is off to the Home Depot.

Thanks, Sarge. It was a zoo that day! Still, it was a lot of fun! A friend of the family drove in from a long way off and it was nice to see him.
Grandchildern are the best thing ever. Had my 5 year old grandson every day this summer while mom and dad were at work. He loves to help me do yard work and really is a big help. Now he's back to school and I'm lost.

It is funny that you mentioned school because I was just thinking about that just the other day. This kid is a long ways off from that, yet it will be upon us sooner than we realize.
