From a day trip down into England.
Nice photos, Sue. I’ve read about the wall, but I'm not sure I’ve ever seen a photo from this angle before.
Memories and good ones.
Thanks.
Nice shots. I walked entire length of the Wall in September, 2018. This appears to be somewhere in the middle of the 80-or-so mile trail. A great adventure.
Lovely part of the country and nicely shown here Sue. I’m ‘up-country’ later in the year, but not sure we’ll get quite that far. I’d love to visit Lanercost again. Thanks for the memory.

We visited Lanercost earlier in the day - it is smaller in scale and has a more intimate feel than Melrose Abbey.

I would have LOVED to do that! As it was, we were there only a few hours and saw only a small fraction of the wall. I was very impressed with its construction of rubble sandwiched between dressed stone. The Romans were fantastic engineers and builders.
The shot with the tree embracing the view is really nice. Both are nice, but I can get quite comfortable with the tree.
I too, like both for different reasons. The perspective in th first and, as said above, the way the trunk of the tree anchors foreground and moves my eye to the distant.
