eastern towhees, also called joree birds, sing a telltale song "drink your teeeeee!" "drink your teeeeee!",
and "chewink"!. they scratch vigorously in fallen leaves looking for bugs, spiders, seeds, berries, and,
of course...peanut butter suet.
I am always thrilled to see one and actually
get a shot. the female is equally beautiful but more shy and stayed hidden in the brush.
You sure nailed this one, MT. Beautiful bird. Great photo!
Beautiful image, MT. You did a great job capturing it. My wife has a similar cry - “take off your shoes, take off your shoes”.
Nice bird and nice descriptions.

Those are terrific.
"Drink your teeeeee!" Yes, indeed. I hear them more often than I see them, and see them more often than I ever get a photo of them. Well done!

And I'm jealous!! These wonderful birds are some of my very favorites and are always around the yard, but I've never been able to get a decent shot of neither male nor female. Yours is absolutely perfect, Merry, and tell Mr Tea "hello" for me! You'll soon be seeing some junior 'Teas' following Mom and Dad.
