Evidently foxes are popular. I am grateful to have been photographing such a beautiful subject. Thank you all for the nice things you have said about the images.

David, I agree. Not only are they fast but they like to hide almost all the time. Back in my film days while hunting in elevated stands I was able to capture a couple of photos but never one as good as these.

Very, very nice pics! Were you in a blind or using a remote trigger? I struggle to get shots of deer and coyotes in my yard; if I even hint about seeing them, then they are gone! I have a covered porch, so I can set up camera on tripod outside, but no way so far to figure out how to frame shots without access to the camera. Any advice is much appreciated.

You need to hide your body. Especially your face. They can recognise a face even if the rest of the body is camouflaged. I was using the Kwik camo blind. The other thing that becomes an issue is the shutter and mirror noise. The fox is extremely sensitive to sound, as are coyote. Once you start clicking, they usually head for cover. I had a longer telephoto lens, so I didn't have to be too close for shots. The other issue is that coyotes rely heavily on their sense of smell. They can detect your presence without seeing or hearing you. Wind direction is extremely critical if you are trying to call them in - which is another useful technique.

Good results of your work, Bozsik!
Could you tell us the camera model and the focal length?
How far away you had your blind?
Thank you for sharing these successfull shots!
