I think that life used to be so much more simpler, and in some ways happier. Some of these statements are pushing it a bit but still contain wee it of truth also.

HOW THE WORLD HAS CHANGED
I used to think I was just a regular person, but I was born white, which now, whether I like it or not, makes me a racist.
I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today's standards, makes me a fascist.
I am heterosexual, which now makes me a homophobe.
I am mostly non-union, which makes me a traitor to the working class and an ally of big business.
I was christened by my parents, which now labels me as an infidel.
I am retired, which makes me useless.
I think and I reason, therefore I doubt much that the main stream media tells me,which must make me a reactionary.
I am proud of my heritage, which makes me a xenophobe.
I value my safety and that of my family and I appreciate the police and the legal system, which makes me a right-wing extremist.
I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each individual's merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist.
I (and most of the folks I know), acquired a fair education without student loan debts and little or no debt, which makes me some kind of an odd underachiever.
I believe in the defence and protection of my country and I honour those who served in the Armed Forces, which now makes me a right wing-militant.
Please help me come to terms with the new me... because I'm just not sure who the I am anymore!
Funny ...it’s all just taken place over the last 7 or 8 years!
As if all this nonsense wasn’t enough to deal with ... now I’m not even sure which toilet to go into!!
Labels are meaningless....it is the character of the individual that is important.

LittleRed, be proud that you are all these things, by today’s standards, and so am I, and millions and milions of others as well. If you collapse on your values and standards, “they” win!!!
Poor little red the right wing white guy, everybody is picking on him. Like your president he is playing the victim.

How true that is, but sadly many people still use them on others.

Jezzz Steven, do you really take my posting seriously??? Something I found on the net that I found interesting, especially in this day and age. It appears that the only one picking on "poor little red" is you, kind sir 😇. Anyhows, contrary to what you say, I DO NOT have a President, that lad is your problem.

Good post I'm not white but some of it for me rings true.
Sometimes I feel like Rip Van Winkle who fell asleep woke
up years later and look around and I say WTH has happened.
"The times, they are a-changing", as the song goes. The age old war between white and dark skin goes on. This time around is the dark skin's time. And of all the things people war about, the color of one's skin is perhaps in the top three of uselessness. Who the hell cares? Better we should be worried about what the planet is going to look like in the next 50 years unless we take an interest in the air we breathe and the ground we walk on. And no, Jesus is not going to fix it for us.

None of these statements are empirically true.
But you know that, don't you.

They were all true because we experienced them by observation for a long 8 years.
