Early morning colors are ideal for a photographer, in fact a joy after so many weeks of storms this winter.

Back in the 60's there was a tree called the lone cypress, in a huge storm it came down. Most of it broke apart, some swept into the ocean but part landed in among the rocks below. My Mother Thelma decide she would have that big piece so down I went with rope and hauled it up to her. That section was quite unique she insisted that it looked like a sea monster moving through the surf. It traveled with her to each of her gardens where it was placed and continued to weather among flowers and shrubs. She passed away in the 90's and was interned at the Sam Houston National Cemetery, a veteran of WW II as a nurse in the US Army.

Joe asked me just after her death if I wanted the sea monster. It now resides in my garden under a warm/hot Texas sky. I'm not sure I should make an image of it because I'm a naughty boy and will probably do a girly nude on it! LOL!!!

Wait! Hey LPigott is that not the Lone Cypress in your avatar! My word, just noticed it.

Yes, the Lone Cypress is still there, although it lost a large limb in the storms this winter. We lost over 300 trees in Pebble Beach. The Lone Cypress had four large limbs in the 90's, then three, now two. The arborists say the tree is over 250 years old and still healthy even though it's down to just a trunk and two limbs ...

The one in the photo taken this morning was planted, or transplanted, a year ago to enhance a new golf course hole on the 17-Mile Drive.

It was so weird, my parents had no real money but managed to swing a property in the 17 mile Drive. What a place to live! I LOVE Monterey and Carmel Cali! If I could live anywhere in the US it would be the 17 Mile Drive!

Wow. Nice pic. Right now I'm wearing my Big Sur tshirt. That's as close as I'll get until I get back for Easter, since I drive a truck for a paycheck.
