What happened bunky? Still waiting for that trickle-down thingy?

Is this how RICH Americans respond to Affirmative Action?

Would Bakke be churning in his urn today?

I used to live with this redhead-Baptist-high-school-dropout with a great smile. One day she asked me, "Why is there a Latino music awards show? Why don't you/they just compete with all the others on the same basis?" Seemed like a fair question to me, until I remembered she was looking forward to The Country Music awards show.

I suppose their children maybe innocent of this crime, but they did replace somebody that qualified to enter. Even if they are making the grade, somebody else was denied their opportunity to make the grade too. Should the benefactors of the crime be expelled?

Even if tuitions are dropped someday, will unlimited enrollment solve this particular problem, is that even feasible?

Paying a million dollar bribe is a cheaper way in than spending fifty million on a library with your family name on it. This is just a low rent version of "legacy admissioins" to elite schools.

These are east coast and Hollywood elitist schools and the children of limousine leftists using wealth and power to skate the rules they demand that the people in flyover country live by.

You mean like W's admission to Yale? You may huff and puff with all your might to make this a political issue, but the fact that the elites in this country are far more right wing than left wing. I know that is not a politically correct thing to say in Trumpistan, but facts are facts.

How about Trump's son-in-law Jared... his daddy found a way to get his idiot son in a nice university?

Yeah, the legacy admissions are kind of an ancient sore point with me. After Uncle Sam and I were done, I went to an Ivy on scholarship (and GI Bill) and went to classes with these legacy kids. A lot of them were OK, but a lot of them were arrogant and clueless dipshits. The social elites looked down on me because I was poor and the left wing radicals looked down on me because I was ex-military. Not a happy time, but I got through it.

Political Party affiliation is not relevant.

I have to agree, the elite use their power and privilege to advance their own. It’s been going on since time and memorium.

For some of these parents it was a vicarious vanity thing, could not bear the embarrassment of their child attending a community college, wonder how they planned to keep them from flunking out....

The political party is only relevant in your mind. If you look at the list of the indicted, nowhere does it say their affiliation so any deduction on your part is strictly a specious argument with no substance.
This is definitely a class issue as only the 1%'ers are able to afford this level of bribery.
The other way to do it is like Jared's father did. Make a 2.5 Million dollar donation to Harvard. At least that way, you're not breaking the law and other students benefit from it.

Apparently, this is how "trickle-down economics" works. The rich bribe people who then become rich so they can bribe others.
I guess it's a good thing that the rich got that tax break from trump or they wouldn't have been able to afford to pay those bribes.
The political party is only relevant in your mind.... (show quote)

Little Frankie, I think you need a nap. With you every thing is a whiny, complaining issue against the rich or against the republicans. Why bother, you have no credibility left?

Get a grip Baz, so you want to tell us the Hollywood elite, who by the way is a part of this scandal, are republican when they campaigned for the lying democrats. Sell that crap to someone else. You wouldn't know a fact if it bit you in the butt.
