Great Florida weather with temps in the mid 80's!
Thanks for looking, glad you enjoyed them.
I loved MGs when I was a kid.
The track is in Sebring Florida and the 12 hour Sebring Endurance race is coming up next week.

Great shots of As, Bs and Midgets. I was especially interested in in the dark green A with the hood straps and the headrest - wondering if it was one of the twin cam MGAs that were campaigned at LeMans or a look-a-like. The last time I saw a streetable MGA raced was at VIR in the mid 60s. He drove it to the track with racing tires and wheels stacked up on the luggage rack behind the roll bar. He changed the wheels/tires, taped the headlights and raced it in SCCA F Production as I remember. He was a back marker, but finished the race, remounted the street wheels/tires and drove it off for home at the end of the day. Good memories of those times when racing didn’t cost a fortune and you “run what you brung”. thanks for the memories.

Trix, glad you enjoyed the MG's. I share your feelings about racing back in the 60's and 70's although my experiences were with drag racing and circle track stock cars on dirt. I drove my cars to the drag strip with a pair of slicks in the trunk with the lid tied down with a couple of bungy straps and uncorked the headers at the strip. Definitely low budget, but a lot of fun and a few trophies to boot! Check out my Part 1 MG photos which somehow kind of got lost in the main part of the website, but are there if you search my name or subject title.
Nice photos of some classic sports cars.
BTW, which one won the race?

I'm afraid I can't say who won the race as I had returned to the Hagerty car show area for the awards ceremony where my purple 1933 Chevy Streetrod received a 1st in Class award. However I do know of one car that didn't make it off the grid, the green MGA pictured in Part !. They pushed the car for quite a way down pit road, but it refused to re-fire!

Yep, Lucas electricals or Autopulse electric fuel pump no doubt (why do the British drink warm beer? Because they have Lucas refrigerators). Now post a shot of your winning Streetrod!
