How I can change the time I receive the posts? I want to change it because of the Daylight Saving time.
On the daily email page: It’s is right there on the bottom paragraph.
I wish they'd just pick one time or the other, and leave it that way all year. Our Lord made the day 24 hours long, and the politicians just can't seem to figure that out. This changing back and forth is ridiculous. (IMHO)

I have to agree that daylight saving time is ridiculous. I think it must have been thought up by would be dictators, who want to exercise control over the masses.
It is a PR stunt by the govt to make you think they are doing something. At least my camera now has the correct time stamp again.

Daylight saving time is a product of our culture.
In the old days (even before my time) 90% of the population was agricultural. They got up early, frequently before sunrise, in order to get things done. As we progressed to value leisure time and made it possible to do things after sunset, we shifted our schedule. My wife cannot bear to get up before 7:30 or 8 am. I used to get up at 4.
Since the sun rises in the summer fairly early (once you get away from the equator), people who like to stay in bed miss a good fraction of the daylight available to them. Artificial lighting has mitigated that problem so they don't notice it as a problem. Daylight saving time was invented to try to get people's schedules a bit earlier so that they would have more daylight at the end of the day, when they're awake and able to enjoy it. I believe one of the arguments was that it would save energy because people wouldn't need artificial lighting as much. That has not happened.
It is largely viewed as a PITA currently.

Hi, You can change this in the email notice you receive, there is a PS message with the link at the bottom of the email, click on that and it will open up a new tab called "Digest settings" on that page is heading "You can control the hour of day when the digest is delivered to you".
Hope this helps

Fortunately, there's serious talk about legislating that out of existence.

Right, but DST didn't begin till March, 1918.
The Brits will tell you dst began to allow farmers to utilize all the late daylight it made available to them and time left to get to the pub for a pint of ale or three before the mandated closing hour of, I think, 10:30. In the summer they enjoy very long days and the opposite in winter so dst gives them more light to work with. Since time begins at Greenwich, the rest of the world follows to have a more coordinated sync time for the financial markets. I loved dst the three years I spent there because I could tee off at 9:00 and get in nine holes of golf before dark. I see very little reason to utilize the practice in the U.S. since modern communications methods mitigate the financial need and bars stay open 'til 2:00 am if not all night. When I'm king we'll abolish dst and close the bars at 10:00 to slow down some of the drunk driver slaughter we now want to tolerate for some inexplicable reason.

i feel the length of the day was long before 24 hours became the norm.... i agree "our lord" made the day but the "24 hour" part wasn't his idea.....JMHO !!!

Why not set it for four AM? that way it's there no matter what time you get up, DST or EST.

You're making an assumption that the poster gets up later than 5AM.

It originated around WW1 when the government thought it might save energy.
