My son, daughter in law and granddaughter live in LA. They recently got a new rescue dog. This picture is of my granddaughter and the dog in the parking lot at her school showing the dog to her friends. My point here is that this picture, grabbed at the perfect moment on a cell phone, was not staged, no fancy equipment, not taken by anyone with any special photographic talent. But the sheer joy on her face and the smiles of those around her make this a picture that tells such a wonderful story. And why I love photography.

Another terrific example of "it's the photographer that counts, not the gear" A wonderful shot. Love the motion blurr.

This is why I prefer candids to staged portrait shots - you captured exactly what she was feeling.
