Welcome and never open the Canon vs Nikon battle here again -ever. Open warfare ensues. Just read the responses so far.
Now for my opinion - do determine what level camera you want. Then go look at and hold both brands of the level you are considering.
For the record, I have a Nikon. I was deciding between the Canon and Nikon. The Nikon felt better in my hand. I believe I would have been just as happy with the Canon.
