Very nice on download. You might try (in Photoshop) to lighten the shadow areas. One way is to click on Image, Adjustments, Shadows/Highlights and move the shadow slider to the right. Levels, curves etc. can also be used to brighten these dark areas. Good luck!

I can imagine there are limited possibilities where correcting the verticals is concerned. Rotating will lose too much out of the edges of the frame. Perhaps there's some sort of transform tool that has corners that can be pulled.
