I'm looking into buying a new tripod and i found the Robus RC-5570. I will be shooting with a f2.5 400mm lens and I also stand 6'3. i will need a big tripod and i was hopping that someone here can tell what they feel about the tripod.
thanks
Sean

You could spend about twice that price on a Gitzo and be sure you have the right tripod.
Or check out the Nest line for the tripod and (gimbal head which I can recommend)very smooth and light weight.
See MTshooter's profile ( sorry but my memory fails me right now)
My tripod for most of my work is a Gitzo GT5561SGT with a wimberly gimbal head , Its CF extends to close to 9ft and very steady, no longer in their catalog. and not cheap. I no longer question my sanity about the purchase.

I own it! It is fantastic. Easily worth twice the price. It's tall, very stable, well-built, comes with more than you may need. It's a bargain. Check out the reviews that Jerry posted, they are spot on. I absolutely love it. Contact me if you want more info.

I recently purchased this tripod. I am very happy with it. It is solid, comes with extra feet and the carrying bag. I can leave my rrs ball head on the tripod in the bag.

Just got mine it is solid easy to use and very well made and stable. I stand almost 6’ 2” and in retrospect could have gotten away with the 5558 (a foot shorter). By the time you add your tripod head and camera it adds about a foot and the 58 is $50 less.

Never heard of a /2.5 400mm, is it pretty heavy?
