I agree. It's just a matter of learning how to use it. I usually shoot birds at 1000/sec shutter speed or more but that does not work in the case of this kind of light. Thanks for commenting, photogeneralist.

I've never seen a female cardinal with a yellow breast. Is that something else or just a trick of the light?

It's the light. Though she was quite brilliant for a female, the post-processing made her a little more colorful. Thanks for commenting, Ron.

Cloudy, drizzly, and too dark for faster shutter speeds with a long lens. You might be surprised at just how dark it was for these images which were all shot handheld. Hope that explains it. Thanks for commenting, speters.
