Prime delivery times depend on where you live relative to the distribution and warehouse centres. Some cities in the UK get same day deliveries, some next day and the rest is supposed to be two days. I live in a remote part of the North and Prime deliveries average 1-2 days.
Although we have a few Amazon centres, much of the warehousing is based in the Channel Islands, therefore planes, ships, lorries (trucks) and couriers are involved.
High streets in the UK are failing, partly due to Amazon growing and it looks as though there may be a "Sales tax" imposed in the UK on all or most of Internet sales. This has got companies like Amazon worried, so the latest rumour is that they are going to open some walk in shops in the style of Argos. (I don't know if you have Argos shops in the States.) The customer decides what he wants before entering the shop, pays at the till or the automatic card machine, the goods are picked - sometimes by humans and sometimes by robot machinery, and the customer takes them from the distribution counter.
Amazon are killing the retail trade - just by being efficient and cost effective.

I tried to call Àmason about a problem but had a hard time finding a number...and, of course, I lost it.
Anyway, when I did call they were helpful in quickly resolving the issue.

If you have the Prime Membership one of the benefits is 5GB storage for your photos. Am currently using it for RAW images and the JPGs in the event my other backup fails. If more space is needed, it can be purchased for an additional amount.

Amazon Prime is more than just shipping: Music, videos, books, etc all included in the fee. I feel it is worth it, but I think they got a little greedy going from $79 to $129 a year over about a 5 year period.

Have been a Prime member for years, when I first joined you got second day shipping free but not any more. I placed a new order on Tuesday this week, selected free second day shipping, and my promised delivery date is next Tuesday - a week not two day delivery.
Not happy with their shipping schedules but overall Prime is worth the cost and will continue as member.

I think they hooked us with the $79 but with all I buy and the extras, it’s a good deal for me too.

Actually, the Photo Storage is Unlimited. Videos and other files are limited to 5 GB. I currently have several hundred GB in Photo Storage.
Prime Photo is my Cloud back-up choice.

I don't buy from Amazon very often but do occasionally. Recently I ordered two items for my granddaughters birthday. I had a choice of free shipping, free shipping with Amazon Prime or I could have paid extra for expedited shipping, to arrive within a couple of days. As I was not in a hurry I chose the plain vanilla free shipping. Both items arrived in the very same two days than if I had paid extra for the expedited shipping. As I have no interest in the offers Prime gives me I will most likely never use Prime. If you use Amazon often and spend big dollars then it probably works for you.
