Using Odin trigger for non-Phottix flashes

Can the Phottix Odin trigger be used to control non-Phottix flashes off camera? If so, I would really appreciate a step-by-step guide to the settings for both the Odin and then flash unit.

Get Odin receivers to connect with your flashes.
Great system!

I assume that this equipment is compatible with flash gear of various makes but I am not sure about the extent of the TTL dedication. The website, linked above, is very comprehensive and includes a number of customer service options and and contacts for technical inquiries. Looks like a great system.

Are you still using Nikon equipment?
Which Odin transmitter do you have?
Which non-Phottix flash(es) do you have?
I’ve only used the first version of the Odin radio system and was very pleased with it using Nikon compatible receivers with my Nikon flashes.
If you want to keep costs down, the older receivers still work with the newer Odin II transmitter.
I think they may be a little smaller but hard to find
Here’s one https://www.ebay.com/itm/Phottix-Odin-TTL-Flash-Trigger-Receiver-for-Nikon-01F/153321734624?hash=item23b2b001e0:g:t68AAOSwX6RcJ~B5

Here is the Odin II receiver for Nikon:https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1219759-REG/phottix_ph89067_odin_ii_ttl_flash.html

I’ve not used the Odin II so I’m not sure what has changed, but I know the transmitter looks more user friendly.

You basically attach the receiver to your flash, put the flash in TTL mode and control it from the transmitter.
You’ll have to decide what channel/group to use, but I found it very intuitive.

Are you still using Nikon equipment? br Which Odin... (show quote)

I am using Yongnuo YN685 flashes and the original Odin. I have contacted Phottix directly, maybe they have a quick and cheap workaround, though I doubt it.
