John, these are nice quality close-ups - good job with good gear. No matter where one gets the opportunity to photograph these magnificent birds, it's always rewarding - they have a certain awe to their personality. I never tire of photographing eagles, anywhere, anytime.

Photo #1 is a rescued male from Alaska who flew into a high-power line. Photos #2,#3 & #4 are of a rescued immature female eagle (18 mos. old) from Michigan whose nesting tree was blown over in a storm. Both eagles are missing part of their right wing. Photos were taken at the eagle habitat at the Detroit Zoo. As sad a story as that is, it provides opportunities to appreciate these magnificent raptors at closure range than in the wild. Handheld Olympus M10,III with 75-300mm lens (600mm equiv.) and utilizing the in-camera 2X digital crop giving 1200mm equivalent to obtain head shots.
