Wildflower photos taken this past Sunday at Bartlett Lake about an hour or so north of Phoenix.

Hi DesRose,

Beautiful images. My wife and I especially like your 2nd image. "Magnificant" is my wife response.

Here is SoCal, the flowers are also starting to bloom. The jury is out whether we'll have a supper-bloom this year. But, we're chasing flowers all the same.

We're planning to drive out to Arizona just for the flowers. We heard that Picacho and Lost Dutchman SP's have incredible flower blooms this time of year. Do you know if they're blooming out there yet? Also any other really good places in AZ you might recommend for wildflower blooms?

BTW, we think that Carrizo Plains NM is the best in SoCal. Just our opinion.

Thanks for sharing
Mike

You're right- We should let anyone who wants to cross our borders the right to do so.. We should give them free education, free medical care and the right to vote.. Perhaps a free stipend to get them started... How can we be so heartless??

@ DesRose

Nice shots indeed - good composition & balance, pleasing to the eye. Being a native Arizonan, I'm quite familiar with Bartlett Lake and Arizona's deserts. AZ desert springtime is always a treat to experience, and photograph.

Just a suggestion, with no offense intended ... perhaps it would be beneficial, as well as educational, to explain to your viewers what species of flowers they are viewing ... in this case we are looking at: Golden Poppies, or California Poppies, and Purple Desert Lupine (save the scientific names unless they would like to research). The saguaros are a given.

@ Retired CPO & UtahMike .......... not to worry, it's okay.

One of the advantages of being a member here at UHH is ... putting - as the case warrants on occasion - an obnoxious, or rude poster into my Ignore List.

One of the many hats I wore in life, was as an undercover Arizona State law enforcement agent stationed on the Arizona/Mexican border for seven years. I did hand-hand combat and running gun fights with Mexican drug smugglers and cartels from the deserts of Lukeville, AZ all the way to San Ysidro and San Diego, CA - in and out of Mexico (look that up on a map)!

I can assure everyone that the 'bleeding heart' types that spew MSM news propaganda, such as Mr. Orange, have not one iota or a minuscule clue on certain 'political issues' as it was labeled, in Mexico and in particular, the Arizona desert or the Organ Pipe National Monument ... and, there certainly is no place in my 'fox hole' for the likes thereof that blow such 'smoke.'

And, as for my fellow agents that were unmercifully shot and murdered in cold-blood by so-called 'Asylum Seekers' and 'Political Refugees' who just happened to be carrying a few extra kilos of 'Mexican Brown' and Cocayena in their day-packs, I'll be sure and throw a few extra roses on their graves, and tell their widows and orphans hello from Mr. Bleeding Heart.

So, as they say down Ol' Mexico way ......... Asta La Vista Permente, Senor Orange!

Hi...I haven't been on UHH for awhile and just saw your post now. Yes, the areas you mentioned are blooming HOWEVER according to the internet because of the frost we had the wildflowers are not as dramatic as one would hope. From what I've heard the wildflowers seen at Bartlett Lake are the best. Thanks for the "magnifcant" on photo #2.
