Small birds in flight are always a challenge but with patents and practice, anyone can have a fair amount of success. It all starts at the birdfeeders. Thanks to all who take the time to respond.
Really great capture! BTW auto-correct changed "patience" to "patents" in your narrative.
Excellent. Not easy to do even with feeders.
Great capture. Nice and sharp. vz
Excellent image, Sherwood and cannot equal that detail with one sitting on a limb!
Very nice!!! I have found juncos to be the hardest to photograph with their almost featureless grey coloring and I have yet to get one with a catch light in its eyes and I've NEVER gotten one in flight! Good job!

Very nice. I have yet to be able to capture any small birds in flight worth posting. Well done.
Sorry about the spelling, I haven't figured out how to go back and edit.
Wonderful shot! Great depth of field on bird with good background blur. What lens, f stop, shutter speed?
Love it, I would like to know your shutter speed.
