Of course they completely avoided taking up the validity of the projects, they were told that it would be a waste of money, and just like all their green initiatives they pushed forward with it anyway, it was a social justice imperative, and in true liberal fashion they refuse to own their mistakes.

Most all these hair brained lib schemes are merely a way to scam taxpayers and get money for top democrats and their buddies knowing the green shit is a total scam. Problem is the uneducated lib base, the least educated group in the world, fall for the same BS rhetoric, over and over like the lemmings they are. We need to investigate this train collusion like ALL the obummer shovel ready collusion scams.

Wonder how long it will take until they realize the same foolishness for trains to Hawaii, Europe, Asia and Australia when they stop all the airplanes.

If they want a successful bullet train project to prove itself build it between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

They did already. It’s running just fine. Another perfect socialist project. Good business plan, on schedule and budget. Managed without the usual leftie cronyism.

Flexible Travel Options: walk, run, drive, hitchhhike, Uber.

I remember the libs going nuts here in Florida when Governor Scott wisely refused the High Speed rail line between Orlando and Tampa which truly would have been a disaster. They wanted to impeach him for not building it.

A train from SF to San Diego would be very useful. I have no knowledge as to how practical it would be.

I’ve been on the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) in Japan over many years. In 5 hours you can travel nearly half the country.

If you buy a rail pass from an agent outside of Japan before you arrive, they give you a passport kind of pass. You then can travel unlimited with that pass - local trains, bullet train. A fantastic deal. And you can just walk through the manual gates. No lines, no fuss. Wonderful.

Feinstein’s husband, the multimillionaire Richard Blum, once had financial ties to Tutor. But neither Blum nor his firm maintain any affiliation or financial investment in Tutor Perini, or any other derivation of the company.

DOTARD!

You have no clue as to the facts on this. Do some research. Don't you get tired of embarrassing yourself??

Actually when Scott turned down the Federal money he commented on the fact that he did not see the train as being able to sustain itself and the state would be on the hook indefinitely to operate the train at a loss.

Low and behold the private sector did attempt to take the project on, Brightline which also operates and I believe is already operating between LA and Vegas built a rail line in South Florida connecting Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach, it is not high speed rail but it is fast rail at any rate. It has had problems, several pedestrians of little sense have managed to get their dumbasses killed by the trains because they could not wait the two minutes for the train to pass nor could they judge just how slow they actually were and how quick the train was.

Brightline has become a part of Virgin Trains and was recently scheduled to do an IPO but because of continued losses and negative cash flows they have called off the IPO, it does look as if they are in serious trouble although the expansion from West Palm to Orlando to Tampa is supposedly still on schedule. If Branson does not bail them out it could be trouble for the line.

Yah think lefties get that? I find that typically something requiring thought, humor or fact tends to mess em up.

Some facts:

"Finally, we will resist the temptation to rely upon fake news.

For example, we have noticed social media posts that criticize high speed rail because Diane Feinstein’s husband owns one of the engineering firms building the system.

We don’t see credible evidence to support this allegation, and thus reject it. Feinstein’s husband, Richard Blum, appears to have sold his entire interest in the firm now known as Tutor Perini Corporation in 2005.

Because Tutor Perini is public it is required to accurately report the names of its largest shareholders. As one can see from the company’s website and from Yahoo Finance, Blum is not listed among the company’s largest shareholders."
