School was a 3 generation affair (then a new one) which lasted for a few decades (closed due to concern about the kids health [it was falling down].) Water was courtesy of a sulphur well. Finally got indoor plumbing in the early 60's. Cutting the yard was with a push mower [2.5 acres]. Snowball supplied all the milk and butter and w/chickens all over the yard [eggs and the Sunday meal]. Typical life growing up in the 50s [I'd guess].
