Nice shots. I'm heading to Nashville and Memphis in a few months. I can't wait to see plenty of guitars and old recording studios.
There are bunches and bunches of recording studio on Music row. Many of them are in ordinary looking houses, but many of the major labels have large obvious studios. I recommend you visit Gruhn Guitars at 2120 8th Ave South. He has an amazing store. Most of the stars shop there.

Hi Folks, haven't posted in awhile. I try to find different and interesting subjects to post so sometimes it take me awhile between posts. Had some fun walking through Artisan Guitars, a local guitar shop near Nashville today. They have some really nice guitars and were nice enough to allow me to wonder around their shop and take pictures. I'm hoping you all will enjoy them as much as I did taking them.

I have an old fender kingman Rosewood flat top (eraly '60's), all apaper work and original hardshell case.

Amazing...that's a nice instrument. I have an old 70's era Fender 12 string. Probably not worth much, but also have a 1945 Gibson LG-2 worth 1000's.

I love guitars and own quite a few. I have a Robin Trower Stratocaster like the one in pic #5 (the red one behind the white Hendrix Strat). I've set up a "studio" to photograph them, and find they can be very challenging to capture well. Light reflections off the body can be difficult to address. You did a nice job, and I'd love to visit that shop!
Thanks Fred, the shop is in Franklin TN at a place called the Factory. I stumbled upon it waiting for a show I had tickets for to start. Gruhn's Guitars is the most famous guitar store in Nashville. A huge selection.

Very impressive, especially the rack of Martins. If you ever get the chance visit the Martin factory in eastern Pennsylvania. They provide a terrific tour of the plant.

For those of you in California. There is an interesting place in Carlsbad on the hill overlooking the Flower Fields called the Museum of Making Music.

Museum of Making Music
5790 Armada Drive, Carlsbad, CA. Open Tuesday-Sunday
10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Has all kinds of musical instruments on display, even play.

Good to have you back James. Wonderful work. I've been in the shop before and pondered shooting in there. Just never got back to the idea of it. But these are great images. Don't think I would have come close. Thanks
