Not a new idea, I worked for a garage and body shop in 1964 that had built a car that could be steered from either end by using a 4X4 front axle to replace the non-steerable rear axle, using the frontends of a 1950 and a 1951 Ford. The Car was built around 1958 and used in local parades.
Clever.
Years ago, I saw an article about a car built for the Paris police. It was a 2CV (I think), front-to-front, like the car I posted. It could be driven from either end. The idea was to be able to navigate narrow alleys easier - not having the backup out of one.
