This was quite a project. If wonder if the builders had to consider legalities.

On TV last week I saw a guy make a caravan out of square back 1960's Saab. He put an A frame to hitch on the front, a pull out kitchen unit and double beds in it. Kept original doors and did not raise the roof. No engine compartment and used existing rear wheels and lights. Towing it with another 1980's Saab in the same colour. Now that made sense.

Clever. I saw a bumper car made into a trailer.

Whoops! Your'e from the UK, so I should have said Dodgem. "Caravan" should have been the tip-off.

Not a new idea, I worked for a garage and body shop in 1964 that had built a car that could be steered from either end by using a 4X4 front axle to replace the non-steerable rear axle, using the frontends of a 1950 and a 1951 Ford. The Car was built around 1958 and used in local parades.

Clever.

Years ago, I saw an article about a car built for the Paris police. It was a 2CV (I think), front-to-front, like the car I posted. It could be driven from either end. The idea was to be able to navigate narrow alleys easier - not having the backup out of one.

Years ago, the German Polizie had a VW like that... it was used on the narrow streets up in the Alps.

In parades in my hometown back in the fifties there used to be these two-way cars.
