full frame, aps-c, Minoltas, Sony, and old lenses question(s)

A while back I bought a ST101, (about 50 years ago)
with which I probably took the best pictures of my photographic-tyro career.
I kept notes as I shot,
and had to line up a indicator needle with a "block",
the involvement with which (simple though it was), made me a better photographer.

I bought several lenses, and by and by they became stolen, one and all,
from the trunk of my car.
As time went by, I bought several Minoltas, of newer vintage,
but gave them away to a student.
I have a couple of old lenses I'd like to try to use,
but I need an adapter, and that's where my question comes in.

Currently I've 3 cameras:
KM 5D, Sony A 700, and Sony A65V.(mirrorless)
All APS-C.

Will AN ADAPTER oops enable using a 35MM-intended lens
on an APS_C alpha sensor?(of course, auto functions will be disabled.)

Were I to acquire a full-frame sensor (such as the alpha 850), would the answer be the same?

Thank you.

I have both Sony APS-C and Full frame DSLR's The "A Mount" older Minolta lenses work great on both ..., no adapter required. If it's an AF lens it will also autofocus.

A mount will not work on any Sony a7, nor on any e-mount aps-c cameras

Maybe the OP is talking about this one?

Edit: And, I'm supposing this is his "KM 5D":

Your old ST101 film camera uses old Minolta MD or MC mount lenses, they work fine on a modern auto focus Sony camera with a adapter, it will not be full frame unless your camera is full frame and of coarse no auto focus.

The newer Sony cameras are A mount like your Sony A 700, and Sony A65V and they are not mirrorless

the new Sony mirrorless camera are E mount like the Sony a6000, 6300, 6400, 6500 they are crop sensor cameras.

and yes if you bought a Sony a850 your camera and old lens would be full frame.

I own 19 vintage Minolta lenses, but I shoot them on a Sony a6000 (crop sensor) and a Sony a7rII ( full frame)

Do a google search on lens adapters for Minolta MD (for example) to whatever camera mount you want to mount your Minolta lens on. There are all kinds of adapters available, you just may have to compromise some or all auto features of your current camera.

I have both the A6000 (e-mount) and A77ii (a-mount). With the LAEA2 or 4, the AF Minoltas will work on the e-mount Sonys and autofocus. This worked well with my A6000. My A77ii uses the AF Minoltas without any adapters and also works very well. The e-mount is the newer mount for Sony. A-mount is older. I don't know anything about the cameras you mentioned.

I use a dozen A-mount lenses on the Sony
a7XX series and Sony a6XXX series bodies.
Sony makes a connector for that purpose.
All of the original functions of the A-mount
lenses perform normally. One of the lenses
is a Tokina A-mount and it functions exactly
as well as the OEM lenses. No problems.

The 1985-88 Minolta AF "A Mount" lenses are usually the sharpest and better built. They can be identified by the A in AF being square vs rounded and by vertical lines near the mount. The 70-210 f4 Beer Can is a sweet lens, the 100-200 is just as sweet and much lighter, 35-105 is excellent, 28-85 is a great lens. I don't have the 28-135 which gets high acclaim. All of these with the exception of the 28-135 can be picked up on Ebay under $100. Several are under $100. Sony has duplicated several of these designs and charges $100s!! I use mine on the Alpha 77 II. If you want to buy adapters and use them on an E mount Sony be aware there are a couple of adapters. I believe one is for the full frame A mount and one for the Sony DT style designed for APC. B&H can help.

Your statement is not totally correct. A-mount lenses will work on E-mount cameras with an adapter. Sony has 4 adapters: the LA-EA1 and the LA-EA2 for APSC. The LA-EA3 and the LA-EA4 for full frame. Note that the LA-EA4 is the best choice for all lenses and cameras since it will work on both FF and APS-C and AF will work too. AF lenses if used on LA-EA1 and LA-EA3 may or may not autofocus depending on the lens. You can find adapters for the older film Minolta MC and MD lenses and the will work ok but in fully manual mode, just like they did on your ST-101.

Will with an adapter, and the Minolta lenses keep auto focus.
