round 2 rematch. squirrel 2 Hawk 0.
This is a different tree in the Rookery, and thus
likely a different squirrel. I have known this one to set up nesting for years in this tree.
And likely a different Hawk, but one can never tell :)
The results still end up the same.
Very nice images.
That squirrel is flirting with disaster.
A cool song but a bad idea.

Yea, but shes a mom, protecting her home.
Some insanity required lol
I have known squirrels that weren't as fortunate.
same. 2 days ago when I was not shooting a gentleman photographed 2 hawks fighting. only 1 flew away
That's an interesting sequence of a squirrel and hawk. I had a mother Blue Jay bird dive on behind my head. When I got too close to her home nest. And I'm much larger than any hawk. I just don't have talons like a hawk.

Pretty ballsy squirrel. Is that an immature hawk? I'm guess if it was an adult and it was hungry this might have been a different story.
i wouldn't be surprised if it was immature. but given their positions he would have had a hard time of it to be on the offensive.
That squirrel has some big Cojones to flirt with that hawk.
What a wonderful sequence. Nice job.
Great series. If the hawk was seriously hunting squirrel would be toast.
The hawk was just scouting the area. I dont think he had much leverage, but this morning I shot just the opposite. a Hawk actually hunting a squirrel. he went right, she went left, and back again. squirrel got away
That's just Squirrely behavior and the Hawk decided to be elsewhere as a result this unnatural act by an obviously wacky rodent......clearly suicidal !!!
