Valley with a View

This was taken at the National Bison Range near Charlo, Montana. I was trying to get a feeling of expansiveness without using a pano. Best if viewed in Download.

Also, I added the sign in the foreground just 'cause I thought it fit... Comments and critiques encouraged.

I don't really like the sign but I think you did a good job with it. It looks very natural. I think the view is great but that you could have done more with it. This looks like what I call 'the 5'9" view. You stood there and photographed a beautiful scene. I think you could have gotten more involved. I see all those nice rocks on the right and somehow want to put them in the foreground or use them in some way to lead the viewers eye into the scene. You have left the choice of how to look at the scene up to the viewer instead of making it yours. This would have been the first of a dozen shots for me as I tried to find the best in the scene. Try shooting one, then shoot a better one, then shoot a different one. This way your eye and your involvement with your subject will get better and better. I still like it though. Great sky and shadows on the landscape.

Planning on visiting my son in Hot Springs in a few months. Would be interesting to see if I could find this spot.
Was in Mousula years back, just whetted my appetite. This time I plan on 'overeating'.
The visitas "bankrupt the English language to describe". T.R., POTUS, on the view from Gold Camp Rd.in Colo Springs. Montana the same. Nicely shot.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I see your point about the foreground rocks and involving more of my vision and less of the viewer's - good thoughts to retain the next time I'm out. Thanks again...

The Gold Camp Road, especially where it is near Cripple Creek, is one of the most dramatic and outstanding vistas I have ever seen. Especially in the fall, when the aspens turn gold and the entire mountain range just shimmers! Thanks for the memories!

Good view. The sign really makes it unique. Clever. Good work.
