One more. This is St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City, MO.

p.8 The power of "selective" red. One article I read said that "the history of languages reveals that red is the first color after black and white. All languages have a word for black and for white. If a third color word (hue) exists, it is "red" "

The idea here with the kayak was to set it off center quite a bit and the person sitting there helped denote the distance.

hmm 'denote' is that in English?

p.8. Yes, "denote" is an English word with one meaning being "to indicate". With the canoe off-center my eye travelled from the foreground diagonally up to the canoe and and then off into the distance. The person in the foreground helped denote ( give a sense of) scale and depth. If the canoe were not red, the lines would still be there, but the composition not as interesting.

The last three are the Magdelan Islands in Québec way out in nowhere, but well Worth the visit !

p.8 Lobster, they stand out even if bright orange! It's the contrasting colors that shout "eat me eat me". The islands - think I prefer the composition with the houses all lined up on the horizon. Again, eye tends to go right to the red ones. And all those memories of warmer days - LOL
