I’m not going to do the leg work, but it’s fairly common Republican, or at leasr Trumpian belief. It’s not universal, but it’s common enough. It doesn’t make much difference whether you accept it or not.

I missed where it said official. Trump and his followers definitely push it, but I don’t know if it’s official.

I think it's more a bait and switch style tactic on his part. He throws out the bait then switches off to watch the responses he get's to his post's whether they are factual or nonsensical. Some of them have been very interesting to watch lately.
