In the early 70's, when I was training in Georgia they let us pick our next duty station. They said there was a girl behind every tree so me being naive said thats where I want to go. Well long story short I learned the joke when I arrived to no trees. There were lots of pretty girls though.

Beautiful photos! Guess its too cold for trees there? In all the pics, I saw just one small tree?

some of the varied and beautiful landscape of Iceland. It really is hard to put many miles on in a day, because there are SO many beautiful places to stop!
Beautiful series. The more I see of Iceland, the more I want to go there.

Katherine, excellent series. Your Iceland trip sure did provide a whole lot of great images.
on that 3 week trip I ended up with 5000 images to sort through--am I nuts?
Not nuts, you had a lot to photograph. I took 2,200 in 17 days on our cruise to Norway, Scotland and London and my wife took 1,700 with her iPhone. Contrast that to about 450 in 11 weeks in Europe in 1971 with my 35mm film camera. BTW, I took 11,000 in two days at the Rolex historic auto races at Laguna Seca in August. You can really take a lot at 7 FPS. Once you have the equipment, the photos are essentially free. Better to take too many than to miss some good photos.
