Does photo editing business worth?
It looks like the original post is from someone who doesn't speak English. His user name indicates he or she lives in India. I think he's asking if there is a marketplace for professional photo editing. Can a person make a business out of editing other people's photos for money?
It's a good question. I don't know the answer. I'd suspect that most casual smartphone photographers don't care much about editing pictures to make them better and wouldn't pay to have it done. And most people who own DSLR cameras and work toward artistry would probably prefer to do their own editing.
It is an interesting idea though. I wouldn't say it's not a workable business concept. There might be a market out there if you can show that you can take good photographs and make them great by showing examples of your work.

Any business can work if one understands marketing.

I occasionally do some photo editing for family and friends, I don't charge for my efforts of course but I suppose it could be done professionally.

I haven't mastered Photoshop (the full version) yet. Most editing that I need I can do easily and quickly with Photoshop Elements. I have a few photos that I would pay to have improved - it could be worth some money to me. But I know friends and family members who take a whole lot of photos without having any knowledge of even simple editing. The marketing challenge would be to convince folks like this that they really can make their photos much better with a little bit of cropping, sharpening, adjusting contrast, etc. But I suspect that many of them don't care...
If I were a professional wedding photographer I would likely do my own but if I did a wedding for a friend, since I am not really skilled at Photoshop, I think I would love to dump a file of photos to someone who could enhance them for a reasonable fee! I can see how this could make a great business for a special targeted group of people.

I nominate Lindafrommaine for CEO!!!
I sometimes "farm out" the editing portion of the process, mostly on real estate shoots where they want the final images within 12 hours of the shoot. I'm just starting in this area so the projects I've been involved with so far are for properties roughly in the $500,000 range (which in the Boston are isn't a lot). So, the projects don't bring me a lot in fees, when I send the images to a subcontractor, I'm paying in the $75-$100 range for 8-10 shots. It really comes down to the editor/retoucher being really knowledgable with LR/PS and very fast. I've tried a few people who had talent, but couldn't perform the task fast so it wasn't adding up for them.
There are various skills required, and I'm very sensitive to the professionalism, as well as corporate structure of my vendors (If you have business insurance your "employment" won't get figured into my insurance costs).
That is very difficult to say. There is at least one photo retouching business in India that is advertised in a number of places here in the U.S. I worked through one camera store doing retouching. It brought in some money but not enough to entice to me quit my real job. Perhaps if I worked for a number of stores that might have done better. One of the restorations I did was published in a book on photo restoration. At the start, the folks at the photo store didn't think much could be done to salvage the photo the customer had wanted to be restored.
By the way, this is the first restoration I'd ever attempted.

clippingpartnerindia welcome to the UHH...
I totally understand where you are coming from... photo-retouching services seems too good to be true, nominal startup cost... and a global reach... Yes many in India are soliciting for this line of work... as a commercial photographer with a web presence I'm constantly queried if I have a need for this service...
However the competition in this market is fierce... I've had offers as low as 72 Indian Rupee per image.
My honest best advice is to offer to assist another retoucher in your local in order to better understand their business model... another avenue would be video editing since still photography is on a steady decline as video slowly takes over the market of visual media...
Hope this helps and please allow me to apologize for any curt replies you've received... there simply are not many commercial photographers on UHH who would indeed understand and embrace the wonderful skills an accomplished retoucher brings to the image equation... In high end assignments retouchers play a key role in the final product... in this scenario they are cherished....
I wish you well on your journey clippingpartnerindia
