Very nice. A classic case of a very good photo that is altered beautifully to tell a different story than the original. Digital allows us the luxury to create many versions, and like them all!

I never think to use the eraser tool but it must be very handy at times. I think here, with such good contrast in the original, it would have been better to combine the eraser with the aid of a quick selection. The definition of the branch and bird look so good, accuracy of a selection is almost mandatory - although, of course, nothing is mandatory as long you are personally happy with the result. I love the effect of the simpler background, and the colours.

Thank you magnetoman. I really thought I liked the original but when I tried several different backgrounds, I settled on the rust color because I just thought it complimented the bird and made it pop more than any of the others.
