Image appears sharp, subject is most definitely interesting, exposure and background fine. Composition, however, could be improved by cropping closer, eliminating the chopped off legs.

What a goofy little critter. I just hate it when I am not fast enough to get the shot I want. I agree that a closer crop would be mmore interesting. I like to find the thing that fascinates me most and crop to feature that. What a fun shot.

In Photoshop, a composite with it standing in tall grass by increasing canvas size favoring the bottom, then add the tall grass.

Ditto on closer crop. Or restore the feet is you already cropped, but I wouldn't cut the legs as they are.
I do like that you left more on the left than the right, as it appears this critter is moving that direction so it gives him space in the shot to move to.

Nice sharp shot, Dave! I think I would crop at the chest since you didn't get it's feet. Also brighten the face a bit. Very nice shot ... especially since you were surprised by the creature.
