I have a litter of English Shepherd puppies to sell. I have a website and have listed the pups on puppy find. When someone inquires about one of the pups we inform them that we form a list based on the order of contact and no payment will be accepted until the puppy aptitude tests are completed and the prospective clients have all the information and finalize their choice. They will be contacted in the order they fall on the list. Shipping arrangements will be made by us at the buyers expense all costs will be disclosed before any payment will be accepted.
After a much more detailed explanation than the one above was emailed to this person, below is the reply.

Thank you for your response.
The prices are okay with me and i will like to make payment for the puppy immediately...As for the payment method i am willing to pay either via a cashiers check if this is okay with you please get back to me with your Full Names,Address and Phone number so that i cant send the payment immediately.
As soon as everything is set i will have my private Shipping Agent come over to you place to pick up so you are not paying anything for the shipping.
Kindest Regards.
Tammi..

This seems to be a little off color to me. What do you think?
Under no circumstance will I release a puppy to a "personal shipping agent"
My wife says that they just don't understand but I don't buy it.

Nope - don't do it. Sounds like the girl that wanted to buy my Nikon D5100 and would pay $200 more because she really wanted it and I could ship it to her agent who would get it to her husband overseas.

Yup

This is a classic scam. (All your puppies probably have the hair on their necks standing straight up.) They will send you a check (which in my case I inquired and found to be was bogus) and probably will be more than the price you arrange. They'll then ask you to send the difference to the "agent" . . and on and on.

Don't do it.

Classic scam. Three things tip me off about it. 1) desire to pay immediately, 2) payment by cashiers check, they can print them on their own printer, and 3) the grammar (assuming you copied and pasted that is)

Our company has seen literaly thousands of scam emails with these exact elements in them.

This is a scam. Over the past ten years we have experienced several of these types of check cashing frauds. We decided to follow through on everything on each of the cases. We had them send a check usually it comes by FedEx and we sign for it. Almost immediately our phone rings asking if we got the check. I always say something came by FedEx but the boss is out and I must wait for him to open it. This makes them very anxious. Then after about another twenty minutes sometimes an hour they call back and I say oh yes the boss has taken the check to our bank. They always write the check for 10 ten times the amount. I say no I didn't see the check personally I have not idea about the amount of the check. This makes them angry. I ask for their phone number as it is almost always listed as a private number or unavailable number on our caller i.d. They never give the number. I then tell them to call back in an hour as the boss is out and should be back in an hour. When they call back I don't answer the phone or respond to their emails. Later in the day or sometimes the next day I respond to their emails telling them everything is okay and they can pick up their merchandise. They call back asking about the extra money and I deny any knowledge. They say that they are stopping payment and I say that's okay with me. Of course we never cash the checks but we have turned over four of them to our local FBI office. Technically it is mail fraud.

It's a fun game to play.

That is definitely a scam. I received the same email when I was selling a litter of German Shepherd pups.

Even if it were genuine, I think those gorgeous puppies deserve an owner who can at least string a sentence together properly, LOL.
Oh, and Lynette, who was it that said 'Hanging is too good for them, it's a good kick in the arse they need." LOL.
Lorri.

I would reply to them, and tell them you would be happy to continue the transaction, but you cannot accept a check. Tell them if they will send you their bank account number, social security number, and other pertinent personal info you would be happy to debit their account!
