Thanks ssymeono for looking. There was enough light for a good exposure so a tripod wasn't needed. I added a touch of brightness to the center. Is this what you were thinking?

Yes! I also love your panoramic!

Excellent shot. I really like the composition and the way that the light, and the valley, lead your eye to the mountains, than to the moon. The colors and contrast are perfect for the scene and add to the overall feel of the geography. Personally, I wouldn't change anything, it's great as is.

This holds my attention and interest much, much more than the famous - Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico.

Good job.
Happy trails

Thank you everyone that responded to and provided critique to my post. I appreciate that you all took the time and made the effort to help me become a better photographer.

For this image I now have some new ideas to consider and see if I can develop them into a better or alternative photograph.

Again, your critique, comments and mods are greatly appreciated.

Mike

Hi Bob, thanks for taking the time to provide suggestions for improvement. I'm always torn between adding more info for context vs focusing in on the subject. I added a little bit of sky back in. Is this any better? Mike

I like the extra space more than the original crop. However the only important thing is what you like. A number of us have only offered suggestions. Now consider them and do what you think is the best treatment for this image.

Thanks everyone for your input. I tried a few different edit options based on some of your inputs. In my final edit, I decided to keep most of the scene the same but I did add a little more headroom over the moon based on BobHartung's suggestion.

I tried to contact ET, but he was busy on another photoshoot.

Here is my final version, at least for now.

It looks good except I think the foreground rock outcropping is still too luminouos. IMHO it needs to be burned down a little so it does not hold your viewers attention at that point.
