Congrats on your new D5100. This was my first true DSLR and I love it still. It is a great way to slide into the computer aged camera.

Ordered my Nikon D5100 & extra lens through Adorama on Monday and they arrived this morning with super saving shipping, impressed. Missing a lens cover for the additional lens but have contacted them. Battery is charging & I'll be shooting this evening. DSLR class starts in 3 weeks. Excited!

Happy shooting. I got mine little over 3 months ago and enjoying learning curve and taking some pretty good shots.

Great camera, I got one 2 mos. ago. David Busch's guide to the d-5100 is a good reference and a good buy on Amazon.

Thanks. I have canon and sometimes it is easy for me to understand a book when the writer uses similar type of camera.

Congratulations on your new camera. I have a D5100 also, which I purchased the beginning of April. It's taking a while to learn all of the bells and whistles, but I love it. I am having a lot of fun. Hope you do too. Enjoy!
