Steve Perry has a new book on the market. I purchased his last book, Secrets To The Nikon Autofocus System, which was wonderful. The other bonus is that updates are occasionally given when there are new findings or corrections.
Keep up the good work, Steve.
I am thinking of buying his latest publish. I was wondering if anyone purchased a copy and what you thought of it?
Harold
I just downloaded it. If it's anything like his two previous books, it's worth twice the price. His information is very clear to understand. You can tell he has used his many years as a wildlife photographer to build these impressive pieces of work.
Keep up the impressive work Steve.
Chris
I downloaded it this morning and put a link in the Links section.
I went through it briefly and see that as usual he starts at the beginning, meaning the basics, and delves into the subject deeper as you progress through the book. He illustrates what he discusses to make it clear to those of us who like visual reinforcement.

I started reading it yesterday and so far it is an easy read. Steve explains things very clearly and I'm sure newbies and old hands alike can learn from his latest offering.
Thank you for the comments.
Thanks so much for the kind words and for the mention :)

Since it is brand new it will be hard to get a full review but all his books are outstanding and I plan to get the new book this wknd .if you ask the question in a month I bet you will get positive reviews but just get it now cost is so reasonable. Rich

I bought it, it is as good as his previous books. BTW, there is a free update to “Secrets To The Nikon Autofocus System”

Yes, it was new in April, 2017, and it's definitely worth the slight cost. In addition, you will get updates as Steve makes changes. I got an update a couple of days ago.

Go up a few messages in this thread to Steve Perry's comment. His web site is there at the bottom of his post.

I really wish he would print hard copies of these excellent publications. I like to use them as a reference and it is much easier with a hard copy than having to go to the computer all the time.

See jerryc41's post, right above yours. There is a link where you can download it. I don't think the book is available in print form.

By using an ebook it keeps the cost down. A print book would be much more expensive
Yes, the book is an e-book, not available in print. As mborn says, it keeps the costs down. I have some info on my website about it I'll paste below:
The reason for sticking to digital is three-fold.
First, it keeps the costs down. The books are large and full of colorful photos and illustrations – making them very expensive to print. Last time I checked, it would raise the cost on your end to over $60 or more – plus shipping.
Second, digital makes for easy updates. While some books don’t see updates very often since the information in them isn’t subject to change due to technology (like Secrets To Stunning Wildlife Photography), some books get updated far more frequently.
For example, the Nikon AF book was updated twice for new cameras within the first six months of publication. The new book will see an update soon as well for a some typos and clarification corrections. Plus I have some more info I'd like to add to the Exposure and Metering book as time goes on.
With digital, these updates are free and easy; with paper, not so much. Plus, if I did issue a new update, everyone who purchased the book in hard copy form in the last month or two would want to return it for the updated version. Digital makes the update much easier.
Third and finally, it’s easier for me.
OK, I know that’s selfish, but the truth is, I don’t want to deal with shipping, damages in transit, and any printing issues. I’m a one-man operation and have more projects in front of me than I can ever finish.
So, digital saves me a ton of time and allows me to continue to write books, articles, and produce videos.
All that said, if you do want a hard copy, we’ve had people take the book to a printing place (like Kinko’s) and have it printed and bound. You are welcome to do so for a single copy for your own personal use.
