here's some photos of a couple of the areas we got to spend some time at

Katherine, not only a great set but I really appreciate you telling what the photo is. It is easy to say beach, cave, etc. but the more detailed ones take extra effort and I appreciate it. High Five for the 4 sets of Iceland, more maybe.

Nice series Katherine. Interesting for me to see the same scenes in the sunlight.

These remind me of one afternoon when some of us got together and headed to a place called black beach by the locals. Just east of Keflavik. Well being young and crazy we decided to go swimming in the north atlantic. Not much swimming due to the surf but got some neat pics of the experience. Thanks again for the memories.

Those are some of the best shots I've seen of Iceland. Lucky you had a sunny day.

While I was there a volcano erupted on an island off the southern coast. It was home to a small fishing village. They evacuated the island during the eruption and asked the us military for volunteers to shovel ash, which was 3-4 feet deep, off the buildings so they wouldn't collapse. One night while on the island 4 friends and I were leaning against a building watching the volcano blow lava into the sky. Well being young and dumb we decided to climb the volcano, which was about 300' high and newly formed. I had a yashika TL electro at the time and wanted to take a bunch of photos into the volcano with different exposures. Well it turns out I had one exposure left. Bad timing but incredible memory.
