This year, Kruse vaulted to new levels of visibility (and gained around 150,000 Twitter followers) when he took on Dinesh D'Souza's claims that the Republican Party had never pursued a "Southern strategy" to attract racist white voters away from the mid-century Democrats. With humor, animated gifs, screenshots of primary sources, and lots of references to the work of other scholars, Kruse dismantled D'Souza's ahistorical argument piece by piece.
Here us another excerpt from:
https://historynewsnetwork.org/article/169492inesh D’Souza gets a history lesson on Twitter. D’Souza has made a specialty of highlighting the undeniable racism of the 1960s Democratic Party as a way to tar the current party. His arguments ignore the way the two political parties switch positions on Civil Rights in the 1960s, with the Democrats embracing Civil Rights and Republicans, under the guidance of national leaders like Barry Goldwater and Richard Nixon, exploiting racist backlash.

And Dinesh proved that all wrong. As usual. Get current with your events. Stop repeating lies and supporting the big lie.

Let's see, who to believe?......a convicted felon and wife beater from India or an American professor of history at Princeton University.
You must be easily led, like the Branch Davidians followers or the Jonestown followers. You drank D'Souza's Kool Aid.
Dinesh's opinions don't prove anything and are worth D'Naught.
He is a quite intelligent snake oil huckster who is adept at firing up a distinct minority of folks who are very passionate about what they wish was true.

I did look into the charges. Maybe you should.
He did not have his wife's approval for the donation. He told her he wasn't going to make the donation. He also donated money in the names of other people. Clearly illegal. "He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a $30,000 fine and five years of probation, including eight months living under supervision in a “community confinement center” in San Diego."
Who do you believe, a Princeton History professor or this lying, wife beating convicted felon?
