Photographed in Upstate, NY. Here are two different views of the same barn. Which do you like better, if either?
Additional critique, comments and suggestions welcomed. Thanks.

No 2 gets my vote. The tree and shrubbery adds some framing to the photo.

I like #2 as the foliage seems to frame the subject a bit but, the barn has a slight lean that is disturbing.
Along with the terrific framing coming from opposite angles, the farm implement is more visible in #2. It just needs a critter peeking out from one of the bays
I prefer the second shot - the barn has greater prominence, the tree and shrub at opposite corners frame it nicely, and the clouds are better positioned.
No. 2 is my vote due to the framing offered by the tree branches top right, But I'd like to see this with the shrubbery bottom left cloned out. A slight crop up from the bottom to about the midpoint of the shrub would, IMHO, improve the composition and also make the cloning easier, The texture and detail of the grass in the foreground is sufficient to "anchor" the photo so the eyesnag shrub is not needed for that purpose and detracts from the photo. Perhaps a slight LOCAL increase in contrast for the Hay rake? beside the barn would reinforce the idea that this is a working barn, Also, A slight increase in overall contrast might help bring out the texture in the barn siding and punch up the sky too.
If you decide to rework this photo, I'd love to see the results. The feeling of "barnyness" (new word) is difficult to capture but your photo No. 2 just cries "barn". My camera club was assigned the subject of barns one month. Your barn photo compares favorably with the best that resulted from that assignment.

Hi, Bmac,
#2 for me !
The low perspective with foreground foliage framing works well for me.
There is also a bit more space in front of the ground level loafing shed that aids composition and keeps the barn from being squeezed to the left border.
