What a ridiculous suit. This is one thing progessives have wrought - the idea that someone is at fault for anything and everything. The victim mindset when something goes awry. Free money!

Progessivism is not progressive it is destructive.

"The Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen's Associations representing crab fishermen in California and Oregon filed suit against 30 companies, most in the oil and gas business, for harming the environment and messing with the their livelihood.

It’s the first time food producers have sued energy producers for harming the environment.

By this time of year, crab fishermen should be on the water for Dungeness crab season, one of the most profitable times of the year.

Instead, the boats are still docked because a neurotoxin called domoic acid has been found in the crab fishing waters.

This is not the first time in recent years the crabbing season has been delayed or cut short by the toxin, which is linked to algae blooms associated with global warming.

That’s why the crabbers filed suit, alleging that the oil companies, “engaged in a coordinated, multi-front effort to conceal and deny their own knowledge of those threats, discredit the growing body of publicly available scientific evidence, and persistently create doubt,” rather than dealing with climate change from the outset."

Just wondering if these Fishermen burn Diesel in their trade, or do they use rowboats?

Even if it's just rowboats they are dependent on the oil companies for their manufacture and for the manufacture of any other equipment they use.

Even green energy is dependent on the oil companies.

There seems to be many scientists who do not agree, they think it is the natural cycle of things. Global warming should be able to be scientifically proven and they have not been able to do that. At this point it is simply a theory as to why. Global temperatures in the last 100 years have risen 7/10 of 1 degree. not exactly an attention getter.

A very Trump like reply and widely endorsed by the fossil fuel industries and the scientists they hire to dispute real science.

Here are excerpts from an article from NASA:

"Multiple studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals1 show that 97 percent or more of actively publishing climate scientists agree: Climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities. In addition, most of the leading scientific organizations worldwide have issued public statements endorsing this position. "

"International academies: Joint statement

"Climate change is real. There will always be uncertainty in understanding a system as complex as the world’s climate. However there is now strong evidence that significant global warming is occurring. The evidence comes from direct measurements of rising surface air temperatures and subsurface ocean temperatures and from phenomena such as increases in average global sea levels, retreating glaciers, and changes to many physical and biological systems. It is likely that most of the warming in recent decades can be attributed to human activities."

Some treat science like its a religion. Likely? The fact is they still don't know why it's happening. They are taking a SWAG.

Al Gore started this crap and said all the Glaciers would be gone by now. Guess what? They aren't. Climate change is pushed because it is big money. PROVE IT AND I WILL BELIEVE IT. Depending on the crap one reads, many, many scientists say it is just the natural order of things. .7 of 1 percent increase in temp over the last 100 years is a big nothing.

I understand that 'science deniers' will never be convinced that global warming can be influenced by human activity.

The Conservatives in the U.S. have let big business do their thinking for them and their politicians are all owned by big corporations.

"More people in the United States doubt that humans are responsible for climate change than just about any other country. What accounts for this discrepancy?

'Our politics'. Climate-change denial is a core tenet of one of our two major political parties. Its skepticism is unmatched around the world.

A paper from researchers at the University of Bergen in Norway found that among major political parties — even conservative ones — the GOP stands alone in its rejection of the need to tackle climate change.

One analysis by PolitiFact agreed that “virtually no Republican” in Washington accepts climate-change science.

It wasn’t always this way. In 2008, Republican presidential candidate John McCain produced an ad praising him as a candidate who “sounded the alarm on global warming.”

According to an insightful New York Times article, the party transformed itself into a party of skeptics in just a decade, thanks to 'big political money'"

You are quick to label 'science denier' which is a specious claim. It makes no sense for people not to be skeptical given that there are always those who seek control over others.

"Fossil fuel industry players, like Charles D. and David H. Koch, funded a powerful campaign to scare Republican lawmakers away from supporting climate-change legislation.

Their group Americans for Prosperity pushed a “No Climate Tax” pledge and helped unseat supportive Democrats from Virginia. (When the smoke cleared from the 2010 midterms, 83 of the 92 new members of Congress had signed that pledge).

The tea party, too, saw fighting climate change as one more big government program it wanted nothing to do with."

I'm well aware of what the Kochs do and others. I don't limit myself to one-sided news or information. None of us should.

The government gets enough of our money. We don't need more taxes.

Scientifically Prove it is an issue and happening which they cannot do and they widely disagree on, or it is some boneheads opinion, nothing more. It is amazing to me how you lib fascist socialist dems can just jump on board anything, no proof needed as long as it is your party spouting the crap.

Exactly, it is seeking power over others and financial benefit.

Considering the physics of hydraulics, what would you propose for measures that might work. Sea currents are massive in extent.
