I'll play. Here's my effort. I was unable to find any detail in the extreme highlights, and like the colors and ripples.

I
love the subtlety of this, Fred. Thank you so much!

Not the easiest to work with, but here's where I landed.

Well, what fun would "easy" be?
I like the colors, Bruce; thanks so much.
I am attempting RG's suggestion of lava.

Fun exercise. Combination of Topaz Adjust to find hidden colors and Topaz Impression with a Leroy Neiman preset.

I like what you did. Very "Monet" looking.
I really like the interplay between the wet boulders and the water. What I didn't like was the lack of separation between the boulders and what's up behind them (upper left corner). About the only thing I could do was to apply a GND to that upper left corner and try to darken it enough to sort of go away. Didn't work particularly well. I hated to crop it out, because that would also take some of the nicest boulders. I didn't think about lightening the plants until I saw someone else's take. Oh well. I took the highlights down as far as they would go, but now I think the blown ones look too prominent. So if I were to do it again, I'd back off on that a bit, I think.

Thanks so much for your time and sharing your ideas, Kathy. I'm not positive those are boulders; I was thinking just waves as result of how fast the water was moving + the light/shadow interplay. I'll have to see if I have other pics that will enlighten us
Appreciate your interest!
