Just got my first camera. Any constructive criticism?
Am I wrong to say I should be using shutter speed priority trying to capture these little critters wings?
It depends on your preference. If you want to freeze their wing motion use speed as priority and select as high a speed as possible. I happen to prefer some wing motion blur. Be careful of camera motion though, mount camera on a tripod.

Have fun and try Shutter and Aperture and fine tune based upon what you want as the end result.Have fun.
Thanks! I have been playing around with a long time lapse for capturing stars and planets the last few weeks. I can’t seem to get a wide enough view from my location even though my back yard is wide open. Any suggestions?
It's great to sense the joy of your exploring with a camera.
