My Grandfather was 14 years old when his parents gave him all of the money that they had. He & his family lived in the country of Austria. He hid on a boat that was headed for America. At nighttime he would eat leftovers that the passengers on the ship had during the day. He was caught by some of the ships crew one day before they were to arrive on American land & of course the ship could not turn around. When he arrived on American soil, he was 14 years of age & could not speak one word of the English language. But he made it, became an American citizen, was pretty successful as a butcher, got married & had three very successful & very educated children. Later on, he brought his entire family to America, except his mother & father as they wanted to stay in Austria
I was very fortunate to inherit these horns from him that he bagged many years before I was born.
There is 15 points, 20 inch (+) spread, 5 inches in circumference, over 12 inches high. a good rack for sure. My grandfather was loved by all. Thanks to everyone for reading about a very good person, my
"OPA". Lelon

Very respectable set of White-tail antlers. FYI, humbly saying, that by today's standard of relating the size of this buck would be: a 4x5 describing the side with the lesser points first. By yesterday's standard the lesser side would be only be stated, i.e. a four point. The eye guards are not included in either cases, nor are the small nub-points along the lower main beam ... however if a finger ring can be hung from any other sub points along the upper beams then those are counted. If scoring for Boone & Crockett or Pope and Young, then its a free-for-all and everything gets counted and scored including beam lengths and circumferences, base circumferences, point lengths, widest beam spread, greatest spread between points, and some other scoring tidbits.

You might consider having this rack scored by a certified or qualified scorer, it might go somewhere in a record book ... maybe. In the meantime, yes, a very nice set of antlers to be proud to own, and might add ... a nice 13-point too. Oh, yeah, on topic for UH, nice photograph as well.

Thank you very much for the information that you have given me and for your kind words also.
I know of someone that lives in my area that is a certified person that scores racks for hunters I think that I will get in touch with him in the next couple of days (+-).
Thanks again.

Hi, Lelon,
Yourgrandfather would, I’m sure, be delighted and proud to have been remembered as you have.
And we thank him for having added the Cude family to the American family.

Best regards,
Dave
