Large pink flower clusters.

I saw these in somebody's yard yesterday while I was driving past. The clusters are quite large--about the size of a bread & butter plate, & the tree (shrub?) is about 10' tall. Downloading is recommended.

They're crepe myrtles, Earl, and can be trees or shrubs depending on the variety. They're very popular here on the coast. Lovely shots of these.

I saw these for the very first time when I visited Baton Rouge a couple of years back. They are beautiful. There would be entire neighborhoods filled with them - and they were in full bloom.

these are lovely pictures, Earl. I wish I could have gotten some close-ups.

Earl, Donna ID them for you. We have Crepe Myrtles in NC and i have not seen one this beautiful but then again I have not looked hard for them. In NC we consider them a shrub but a lot of the neighbors also call them trees. Thier trunks are awesome themselves.
